The pressures of finding PPA time for staff, and the requirements of the teacher workload agreement mean that Teaching Assistants are being asked to carry out more of the tasks that were traditionally in the domain of the teacher. One of these is providing displays in classrooms and around the school. In addition, teaching assistants are spending more time in class working with children on art activities.
All courses are hands-on sessions with delegates learning practical skills that they can use in school. There are two modules that can be customised to meet the requirements of your school. We can even theme the training to fit in with any specific projects or events that you have planned.
Module One: Display techniques covers how to generate ideas for display, how to display pupil's work, ensuring continuity of display around the school, techniques for effective display and how to select and use different materials.
Module Two: Art techniques covers how to generate ideas for art activities, how to fit art into subject areas of the curriculum, working with pupils at different key stages and hands-on sessions in different art techniques such as 2D, 3D, sculpture, collage and big art.
A small selection of our displays can be seen in our Photo Gallery.
A CD Rom with full details of how to create 30 school displays is provided free when booking an INSET session.
